ABOUTS AND ACCOLADES

Crafted as a fashion film, drawing inspiration from Dario Argento's iconic 1977 Italian Giallo supernatural horror, this project unfolds a narrative centered around a young woman enrolled in a ballet school in Germany, only to encounter unsettling occurrences within its confines.

Remarkably, this endeavor was executed on a zero budget, with every facet meticulously curated through collaborative efforts and resourcefulness. From costumes to locations, vehicles, equipment, and manpower, all were procured through the generosity and goodwill of participants, underscoring the communal spirit driving this cinematic venture.

Crucial to the film's atmospheric allure were the meticulously chosen shooting locales, notably the 'Thunderbird House' in Poole, Dorset—a faithful recreation of the original Tracey Island mansion—and the enigmatic 'Believe it or Not' museum in Central London. These settings provided the perfect backdrop for cultivating the desired esoteric and eerie ambiance.

Elevating the visual narrative, the makeup artistry assumed a pivotal role, evolving dynamically with the protagonist's journey. Commencing with an angelic visage adorned with freckles, bushy brows, and orange lids underscored by a dark purple lip, the character's transformation is subtly delineated. As she ventures into the foreboding house, a shift occurs, punctuated by the emergence of the color red—a recurring motif symbolizing impending peril reminiscent of the iconic use of 'fake blood' in Suspiria. Additionally, the gradual emergence of black lines on her visage serves as a visual metaphor, mirroring the encroaching influence of unseen forces, ultimately culminating in her metamorphosis into an entity diametrically opposed to her initial innocence.

This meticulous progression not only enhances the film's aesthetic allure but also serves as a narrative conduit, emblematic of the protagonist's psychological and spiritual evolution amidst her haunting surroundings.

Indeed, this project serves as a testament to the collaborative spirit and resourcefulness inherent within the creative community. Its recognition in Anon Magazine and its subsequent adoption as the official music video for Giovanna's "Let Go of Yourself" underscore its enduring impact and resonance within the artistic realm.
